The trenchcoats that we sell at Gimme Glitter are usually from the 80s or 90s and are still in amazing condition. They were made to protect the wearer against rain so are made from water-repellent cotton gabardine, a fabric invented by Thomas Burberry in 1879. This innovative cloth is woven from fine, compacted cotton in a special structure that prevents water from permeating the fabric. This means that the coats are water-repellent so they protect you from the rain but they’re not 100% waterproof. We would love to give you a little tip to maintain the quality of your Burberry trenchcoat: If your trenchcoat needs a refresher we advise you to get it professionally dry-cleaned so the quality will stay as perfect for the many years you will use it.

There is a big price difference between new Burberry trenchcoats, and the vintage Burberry trenchcoats you can find at Gimme Glitter.
